The Hour of Code -- the largest world-wide event in history -- is a global movement introducing millions of students to computer science, while inspiring them to learn more, break past stereotypes and empower them. And, it’s approaching quickly!

Are you prepared to host your own Hour of Code event during CSEd Week from December 9-13 this year? Did you know that anyone, anywhere can host their own Hour of Code event? Join us at mindSpark Learning for a FREE workshop generously funded by The Gill Foundation. We will help you design and plan your own Hour of Code, so that you too can become a part of this incredible grassroots movement.

Whether you’re interested in hosting an event with your class, including more teachers in a school-wide event or hosting a family night of code, we will support you in making it happen. The Hour of Code is easy to run - even for beginners.

Key Content:
  • Support in shaping and designing your own Hour of Code event
  • Discuss how you can get your whole school involved
  • Plan strategies that engage stakeholders in your community
  • Design methods that work to reach students and their families

Who Should Attend:
  • Educators at ALL levels
  • Anyone interested in learning more about computer science and the important role it will play in students’ futures

All participants will leave with an outline, and detailed implementation materials, that can be used as support when building out their own Hour of Code events in December.
